On the 10th of June (Wed), Business In Japan community welcome three old hands, experts and successful GoodPeople doing business in, with and related to Japan, in the area of Market Research, Market Entry Services and more. I’m really excited to bring together Rupert Sutton, of Weben Partners, Christopher Brennan, from MCIB Partners and Dominic Carter, CarterJMRN, for a casual discussion about this interesting and opportunity rich Business, in Japan.

Rupert is co-founder of Weben Partners a management consultancy working with FMCG and Health care clients across Asia-Pacific on commercial strategy assignments. Weben develops consumer, customer, shopper, channel and category insights to drive top line revenue and market share growth. Rupert was previously a senior executive with Nestlé and has lived in the region for twenty-five years.
Christopher has lived in Japan for more than 20 years, having grown up in Tokyo during the late and post bubble era. Co-founder and Executive Director of MCIB, Chris drives the B2B market intelligence business in Japan and across the APAC region providing research, consulting, and advisory services. Graduating from the Australian National University with a BA and MA, Chris has developed a well-rounded network throughout the region and across multiple market segments. Chris is also an active member of the AJBCC (Australia Japan Business Cooperation Committee), active participant of the cyber security sector, and involved in development of a global regulatory advisory body for the emerging digital economy.
A double major graduate in marketing and Japanese studies from the University of New South Wales, Dominic has worked in the market research industry in Australia, Japan and the Asian region for over 20 years. After launching Millward Brown’s business in Tokyo in the mid-nineties, he then founded Carter Associates (now CarterJMRN) in 2004.
He is highly experienced in cultural adaptation as well as brand and communications strategy and his team of over 60 researchers in Tokyo and Osaka manages a wide range of qualitative and quantitative projects covering customer needs, segmentation, customer experience, brand and digital strategy
